DesertEagle’s Pick: With this week’s deluge of tiles, narrowing it one to one title is a tough call. Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Vanquish, and Fallout New Vegas are cater to different facets of my personality. Until anyone makes a game about a pink, ass-kicking robot who scavenges through a post-apocalyptic landscape, I’m going to have to go with this trifecta of fun.

SeanNOLA’s Pick: I never finished Fallout 3, but I sure did spend a lot of time not-finishing it. After spending the weekend tying up loose ends, I’ll be picking up a copy of New Vegas so that I can once again cave under the pressure of a million in-game things to do. That’s not to say that New Vegas is the only worthwhile pick this week, but I’ll be hard-pressed to find time for Time Crisis and Costume Quest with all that Falling Out I plan on doing.

TideGear’s Pick: Things are really picking up, just in time for my birthday! Having played it at E3, my pick is definitely Vanquish. It seems to successfully combine solid Western-style design with over-the-top Japanese aesthetics and gameplay mechanics. It’s strangely Kojima-like, and I’d agree with the observation of others that bullet hell inspiration is present. I’m also interested in Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Fallout New Vegas, and Time Crisis: Razing Storm, but I’ll need more convincing of their quality.

Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. This list reminds me of why I love October, but my wallet hates it.

Thanks for bring the new releases back!

  2. Thanks for bring this back, guys! And with keeping with tradition TideGear doesn’t post his picks, huh?

  3. Why is NBA 2K11 just coming out for the Wii right now? I guess the more important question is why its coming out at all?

  4. I’m picking up Vanquish and maybe Fallout. I guess I should wait for the GOTY edition, right?

  5. Can you play Time Crisis Razing Storm with the gun that came with Time Crisis 4?

Man, I bought that turd and haven’t used my gun in ages.

  6. I have a lot of friends that play games. Maybe 50 or so. I don’t know a single one who ever bought a Cabela game. My question- who the hell does?

  7. Some good game this week. Wow, I hope there’s a buy 1 get one free sale in the near future.

  8. I have to disagree with Deagle- Comic Jumper is a pile of crap. Sure it’s funny, but it’s boring as hell and not very polished at all.

  9. I’m curious to how Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 turn out. The demo was good, except for the boss.

  10. Salem Witch Trials seems like an unlikely game topic. Are developers running out of ideas.

  11. it all makes sense now.

Tide was born near Halloween, Deagle near the Fourth of July, and NOLA on national depression management day.

  12. Is anyone worried about the 7.5 Vanquish got in Game Informer. They said the game was only 4 hours and repetitive. Now I’m thinking about waiting on it.
