New Releases 11/22-11/28: Black Friday Edition
Looking over this week’s list of releases, one might assume that the profusion of essential titles has come to an unceremonious halt. Yet, with The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks and The Saboteur due in the next few weeks, it appears that the 2009 holiday season will be remembered for having one of the most protracted release schedules in recent history.

DesertEagle’s Pick: Long before Left 4 Dead was presenting huge hordes of grotesque, sprinting foes in a first-person environment, the mechanic belonged to Serious Sam. This week’s re-release of a high-definition version of the original game may be my chance to return to the blissful fragfests of 2001.
SeanNOLA’s Pick: With Black Friday rapidly approaching, it’s obvious now that the Holiday release blitzkrieg is coming to an end. I could take the easy route, and declare Tekken 6 for PSP to be my choice for this week, but I instead I will suggest that our readers revisit the past month of amazing releases and make your buying decisions from that list. Newer doesn’t always mean better, especially when the competition is ColdStone: Scoop it Up.
TideGear’s Pick: The releases are pretty sparse this week but the PC holds some interesting, albeit questionable, possibilities. Serious Sam was stupid run-and-gun fun, but I’m not sure it needed an HD remake. King Arthur – The Role-playing Wargame looks quite impressive, but the complexity could be a bit overbearing. Lastly, Twin Sector takes a stab at the under-loved physics-based puzzle game genre. Whether or not it just combines elements of similar games that have come before, I imagine it will be my favorite of this week.
Wow, this week has nothing. Tekken 6 left me underwhelmed on console 🙁
I’m broke, so I’m glad there’s nothing I want. Spirit Tracks will be mine, though.
How could Cold Stone Creamery: Scoop It Up be fun?
Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain—More info, plz!
I’ll be picking up Dragon Age and L4D2 this week.
Desert, no picking Marines: Modern Urban Combat? WTF?
When is Serious Sam coming to 360?
So excited about the new Zelda! 🙂
King Arthur – The Role-playing Wargame might catch my wallet.
Ok, I’ll say it- Hoe come TideGear doen’t offer his picks on time? Does he consult a spirtual advisor
A good week to catch up on stuff I missed.
Lol. Karaoke Revolution. Good times with the older Karaoke games 😀
I’ll wait for the PSP reviews of Tekken 6.
I cant wait to play serious sam, used to love playing that.
Still need to buy Left 4 dead 2 though 🙁
Not too many good games this week… But with the great releases that came from the last, and the great ones that are coming up, I’m glad to have a week off from new games so that I can play some of my old favorites haha!!
Thanks for keeping us up to date with the game releases!! 😀
Yep, catch up week for me.
Really not that many games. I guess it’s finally time to finish those that I already have.
Wow, I need more money!
Might pick up Karaoke Revolution for the girlfriend. Not much else there.
New releases are empty, but BF looks great!
Gotta go with Sam, man.
Cool stuff bro.
I thought you liked Karaoke games, deagle!
I’ll give Serous Sam another chance, but man they screwed up that second game!
AC2 is still unopened. I need to fix that this week.
Marines: Modern Urban Combat on the Wii 🙁
I have a few of the KR titles, but the Singstar and Lips games seems to be favored by everyone. The vocal recognition in Lips: NOH is the best, followed by SS, with KR in third place.
nintendo hasnt sent me my review copy for SceneIt Twilight – guess I’ll have to rely on you guys 🙂
You’ll have to settle for our Bright Lights! Big Screen! Scene It review, I really know nothing about Twilight.
You’re missing out!

King Arthur
Kind of a sad week. I cant wait for Spirit Tracks.
Have we seen enough games like Your Shape Featuring Jenny McCarthy??? Like that Daisy Fuentes one?
I don’t know about you guys, but I’ll be picking up Cold Stone Creamery: Scoop It Up. I heard it was supposed to be one of the best games in the ice cream simulation genre.
Thanks for the laugh, Sdawg!
I know a person who wrote their Master’s Thesis based on their experiences working in an ice cream store!
It better freaking come with a coupon for a free cone or I’ll be PISSED 😉
A lot of JUNK this week.
Karaoke Revolution FTW. Great holiday game to try to get your granny in on.
Ahhhh, black friday….
Serious Sam looks good, might get it.
