New Releases 11/29-12/5: Running on Empty Edition

While it’s highly unlikely gamers have any disposable income after Black Friday’s irresistible sales, you can’t fault publishers for trying. From the latest installment in Rainbow’s long-running off-road series to an adaption of James Cameron’s upcoming 3D film, there are a few tantalizing titles that may be hard to pass up.

DesertEagle’s Pick: After tearing up the terrain over the Thanksgiving weekend with MX vs. ATV Reflex, I can safely recommend the title to off-roading aficionados. As much as I enjoy the occasional Richard Marcinko tome, I’m going to have to adopt a wait and see attitude on Rogue Warrior

SeanNOLA’s Pick: I never played Resident Evil: Zero on the GameCube, so I’ll be interested to find out whether Capcom’s Wii release is worth paying full price for or if I’m better off tracking down a copy of the original and using a Classic Controller.  Beyond that one release, nothing else really calls to me this week.

TideGear’s Pick: My pick is easy this week, Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes! I’m a fan of action/puzzle games, as well as hybrid-genre games. Here’s hoping it’s more challenging than a “casual” puzzle game.

Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. Yeah I was looking at rogue warrior and yeah maybe someother time..Intrested in avatar though I hope it’s not another crappy movie game.

  2. What worries me about Rogue Warrior is that there’s not a single gameplay video, demo or anything.

  3. I’ve only read one; his alleged autobiography. I’m not into fiction, so I hope you’ll let me add to the gene pool 😉

  4. Wow I can’t believe the holiday onslaught of triple A titles has dwindled and died down. My wallet is happy.

  5. This is true: Bethesda walked me through an alpha build of Rogue Warrior at e3. The alpha was pretty buggy, so it was too hard to get an accurate feel for the game, but the whole development cycle seemed to revolve around making Marcinko feel good about himself. I left the demo feeling a little worried.

  6. I just wanted to love I love your guys reviews- DesertEagle and SeanNOLA are great! Too bad I’m too poor this week!

  7. I gotta agree. I cant really trust 1up, Gamespot and IGN with reviewing this game. You guys always nail RPGs and FPSs. Ok, you’re Left4Dead2 review, was a bit high, but you’re usually good.

  8. I’m not quite sure what that means…

There’s a lot of games to see and play at E3. If you didn’t book an appointment, you’d have to wait in line. Occasionally, I just was too impatient to wait- as was the case with Halo ODST.

  9. Terms like tome, disposable income, and tantalizing are totally unnecessary. It’s seem like his reviews say, ‘Look I’m so damn smart and smug aren’t I just too cool?’

  10. He’s a writer. Grab a dictionary. You’re the one coming off as pretentious with your criticism.
