New Releases 11/7-11/13: Cold Metal Edition

Forgot about those gold and platinum edition games for a moment; this week’s new release are all about a much more useful material- alloyed steel. From Black Ops‘ collection of light, submachine, and sniper rifles, to the vehicles of Monster Jam, H.A.W.X. 2, Honda Fever and Chevrolet Carmero, and even Hank Haney’s trusty 3-iron, the week is all about cold, carbon-infused metal.

DesertEagle’s Pick: Like millions of other games, I’m looking forward to seeing if Treyarch has the ability to successfully transition in a more modern theater of war. Beyond that, Rune Factory 3: Fantasy Harvest Moon looks like it might be able to satisfy my commute-time dungeon crawling/agricultural entrepreneurial itch. I guess I should have the condition checked out- it doesn’t sound normal, does it?

SeanNOLA’s Pick: DesertEagle turned me on to Sly Cooper a little over a year ago, but I’ve been too lazy to set my PS2 back up to play through all three. Lucky for me, Sony is releasing the collection for PS3- too bad for them that it’s going up against a COD juggernaut.

TideGear’s Pick: Having really enjoyed the first Sly Cooper game, I’ve always meant to continue playing the series, but never quite got around to it. I’ll have to change that now.Β  I’d also like to try Rune Factory 3: Fantasy Harvest Moon, as the normal Harvest Moon games always felt a bit to simple to me. All said, FlingSmash is my pick this week. I love a good action/puzzle game, I’d like a Wii Remote Plus, and Nintendo’s name on the package could mean good things.

  1. FlingSmash for me, although I know nothing about the game. I just need another controller.

  2. Just Dance Kids and Glee in the same week? I guess they’re offering something for all the people who don’t play CoD.

  3. The Singstar market is small, the Move market is tiny. So make SingStar Dance. That’s a great idea, Sony. Segment an already minuscule demographic!

  4. Speaking of The Sly Collection…Have you guys heard that Sony dropped PS2 BC to make HD remasters. They figured it would make them a lot more money. What do you guys think?

  5. makes sense. Why give away the ability to play old games when you can charge for it. Still I know a lot of the smaller games wont get an update.

  6. Reviews for FlingSmash have not been kind. Don’t buy it unless you need an extra Wiimote.

  7. Anyone think Hank Haney’s gold game will outsell Tiger? I’m offering 100,000 to 1 odds?!?

  8. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is a game now? I’ll wait till he battle Frosty in the sequel.

  9. Damn the only thing I got is Monster Trucks. I really need to step my own game up, mang!
