New Releases 1/30-2/5: Knocking Boots Edition

Whether players prefer to step into the well crafted boots of an Elven archer, chest high waders of a professional bass angler, or trusty cow-kickers of a country-western singer, there’s a form-fitting title awaiting players on this week’s new release list. We have no idea what kind of footwear The Sims wear outdoors, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the digital denizens plugged Crocs.

DesertEagle’s Pick
: As a sucker for tower defense and action role-playing games, I’m hoping Dungeon Defenders offers a synergistic amalgam of the two genres. If nothing else, I heard the title’s customization is deep enough to keep gamers occupied during an otherwise lackluster week.

SeanNOLA’s Pick: We played an early alpha of Bionic Commando: ReArmed 2
about a year ago.  All I can really remember was that it was super
buggy (obviously, it being an alpha and all) and that it looked exactly
like ReArmed, but this time it had a jump button.  That’s right: the mechanic absence that begot the original Bionic Commando has
been retconned into the new sequel.  Needless to say, I’m skeptical,
but given the sparse selection this week, and my quasi-professional
obligation to pick something week after week, I’ll pick that one.

Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. Last minute delays suck. I had MS points banked for Dungeon Defenders. I guess I’ll go with BC now.

  2. I hope you review Tales from Space: About a Blob. That one sounds good despite no player vs. player.
