New Releases 1/9-1/15: Tights and Panties Edition

Although the number of new releases pales in comparison to the pre-holiday deluge, January’s second week shows a few titles trickling onto retail shelves. Next week looks even more robust as Little Big Planet 2, Mindjack, and the Playstation 3 iteration of Mass Effect 2 hope to entice gamers.

DesertEagle’s Pick: Although I’m on a casual admirer of the Ace Attorney series, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective seems to be catching a positive buzz. If nothing else, the ability to possess inanimate objects seems like a game concept that hasn’t been explored since 1993’s The Haunting Starring Polterguy.

SeanNOLA’s Pick: New games, already?  Although I don’t really think I
have to time or energy needed to dive headlong into an MMO, I had a lot
of fun with the DC Universe Online Beta.  I won’t promise anything, but
if you pick that up, there’s a slight chance you might see NOLAman: Man
of Crawfish keeping the streets safe for all Gumbo-loving Gothamites.

  1. I’m surprised Deagle didn’t pick Prinny 2. I guess it didn’t get an easier after the podcast.

  2. Is Venetica supposed to be any good? Why is there a PC and PS3 version but no 360 one?

  3. Can someone tell me how much DC Universe will be per month for the PS3? I can’t believe it’s almost out and they haven’t announced a price.

  4. I bought one of those 101-in 1 Wii games before. It had a 100 bad games and 1 half decent one. Never again.

  5. I expect DCU to fail hard. It could be a few more years until be see someone try a MMO on console.

For $60 plus a monthly free, you’re game better bring it.

  6. I expect a collectors edition of Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! with a sealed envelope containing once worn panties. Is that the Disgaea fanbase?

  7. The DC Universe Online Beta wasn’t bad, but not interesting enough to pay for every month. I like all the loot in the game.
