New Releases 6/14-6/20: Three Ways to Bust Edition

Gamers seeking to cleanse the haunted streets of Manhattan, are faced with three choices this week. The could purchase the more action-oriented 360 and PS3 versions of Ghostbusters: The Video Game, both of which have a competitive, online, multiplayer component. While the PS2 and Wii versions offer local cooperative busting, gameplay is said to be more puzzle-oriented. Finally, there’s the DS version, which was inspired by Activision’s old Ghostbusters computer game. We bet Rick Moranis, who refused to be part of the game’s production, will play none of them.

DesertEagle’s Pick: While Xbox 360 owners were charged $60 for an inferior version of America’s Army, PC owners have always been able to enjoy the franchise free of charge. Use of the Unreal Engine 3 means the third iteration of the title will have a host of graphical improvements, while the gameplay looks to have evolved noticeably. For conscientious objectors, there’s always Divas on Ice

TideGear’s Pick: Who am I going to call? It would seem I have few choices other than Ghostbusters: The Video Game. The game does intrigue me so that’s my pick. I’m also interested in America’s Army 3 and Flower, Sun and Rain but I’m less confident I’ll enjoy them.

  1. Thanks for the GB info, I really didn’t know about the DS version. Now, I might have to pick that up as well!

  2. I think DE is secretly going to slip into something metallic and play Ice Divas.

  3. Money says TideGear will pick Flower, Sun and Rain. I’d bet $25 on it, any takers?

  4. I thought I’d post this before someone asks:
