New Releases 6/20-6/26: Sentiment Prime Edition

With titles featuring giant robots capable of turning into semis, a duo of anthropomorphic private investigators, and an interpretation of a popular board game, this week’s new release schedule could have easily been culled from the 90’s. Those without a penchant for nostalgic properties might find gratification in a timeless diversion- this week also sees the unveiling of several puzzlers.

DesertEagle’s Pick: While past forays with the license have produced a decidedly uneven body of work, I’ve been catching a good buzz on Transformers: War For Cybertron. Let’s hope the single player campaign is finally able to trump the previous campaign watermark set by 2004’s Atari-published iteration.

SeanNOLA’s Pick
: A slightly better list to choose from than last week – I’ll agree with DEagle and say that my hopes are pretty high for Transformers: War For Cybertron. If nothing else, class-based multiplayer with robots and cars in space sounds pretty cool.

TideGear’s Pick: There’s several cool-looking downloadable games being released this week, the Tales of Bearsworth Manor games, Art Style: Rotozoa, Puzzle Dimension, etc. Physical releases are representing as well with the much lauded Transformers: War For Cybertron and the eagerly awaited Puzzle Quest 2. It’s hard to make my pick this week, but I’m ready for a good Transformers game. Pick made!

Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. How come NOLA agrees with Desert’s pick, but not what he says on the podcast?!?!

  2. He also told me to stop clapping during the Nintendo press conference, the bully!

  3. Was it Adam always the last the post his picks?

Transformer demo was better than I thought it would be, but not worth $60.

  4. How come you guys never reviewed Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse????

  5. I gotta say it…Why dont you get off his nuts?

    Sorry, couldn’t be avoided.

  6. What game? If it’s Kirby you lost a fan NOLA, if it’s Saints Row, you lost a fan Desert.

  7. I’m going to go with Just Sing (with Microphone) so I can belt out a tune when I go to Chili’s.

  8. Thanks for the info.

If we had the money, we’d probably look at thinkSMART this week.

  9. *phew* we’re safe, it was neither. I’m sure we’ll talk about it on the show, and I’ll lose some fans then 😉

  10. NOLA might have been right about this one. The announcement had me excited, but the actual game was pretty average. Stay tuned…

  11. I really wanted to review the Sam & Max games, but Tell Tale is really stingy with their review code. Maybe I’ll pick them up piece-meal and review the whole series later. We’ll see.

  12. I think he does this just for the fanfare. It’s like being fashionably late for a party.
