Rob’s pick: Occasionally, I feel like I’ve reached my roguelike deckbuilding limit, given the sheer number of titles that Slay the Spire inspired. But Fairy Tale: Dungeon’s licensing just magic might just be powerful enough to lure me in for another turn, at least until Natsu, Happy, and Lucy, arrive for some dayglo volleyball next month. I have no idea how these projects will turn out, but I love to publishers take some chances with their properties. I’m ready for some Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction turn-based encounters, if anyone out there is listening.

And while I habitually hop off rhythm games pretty quick, Kamitsubaki City Ensemble’s four-dollar price tag has my respect. If the DLC can manage to preserve the value proposition, I’m on board and will be looking forward to the upcoming visual novel and upcoming anime.

Ryan’s pick: Now that I”m about two weeks into Diablo IV’s Season 5, the one thing that I’m missing lately in a game is a bit less RNG and more predictability. I’ve always found Gunpla to be a very satisfying and zen experience so this week’s pick goes to Gundam Breaker 4. The one part that I’m particularly interested in is the customizability of the gundams and I have my fingers crossed there will be some Zaku models to choose from. Knowing myself, customization is where I’ll spend most of the journey. I always find myself typically spending an incredible amount of painstaking effort to make the most cringey character customization possible. Once I’ve reached the zenith of cringe, I’ll send that gundam out for battle.

I’ve never been really great at turn-based SRPGs, but I still really appreciate the genre because it’s known for having both depth and variety in terms of how you can approach problems and enemies. Tactical Breach Wizards caught my eye because it’s a bit of a mashup in that you control renegade wizards that employ combat breach and infiltration tactics to thwart foes using magic. There’s also a time reverse feature included in the game, so there’s plenty to like about this one. I also wanted to give a brief nod as well to Fairy Tail: Dungeons on Steam. It’s a bummer that they didn’t include more characters as there are a lot of likable ones in the show, but it’s good to know that Erza is one crew.

Matt S’ pick (editor, DigitallyDownloaded): Since I can’t seem to get enough of visual novels right now, why not throw another on the pile?  Tales from Toyotoki: Arrival of the Witch looks like a warming, heartfelt delight, and I do like the idea of a relatively brief (10 hour) VN after some of the epics that I’ve played recently. I know almost nothing about this one, and plan on going in without any background. The promise of Romance x Comedy x Fantasy has me sold.

I’m also weirdly keen to pick up Sam & Max: The Complete Trilogy on Switch too. I’ve already played these games, many times over, but I do enjoy them a great deal, and having them all in one package on the Switch seems like a good idea to me. It’s otherwise a pretty quiet week for me… but then I haven’t even started Wukong yet, so I’ve got some catch up to do here.
