New Releases 8/23-8/29: Shoes or Lose Edition
As the last days of summer are upon us, why not spend the last days of the languid season stepping into the shows of another? This week’s new releases let players don Bruce Wayne’s boots, roll around in spherical form as Samus Aram, slip into a pair of fishing waders, or even step into the comfy loafers of a elementary teacher. We have no idea what kind of footwear Nancy Drew and Professor Layton prefer, but we suspect both masterminds favor comfort over flash.

DesertEagle’s Pick: First the good news- there’s no shortage of exciting games this week. The bad news is there’s no enough time to play them all. I’ll likely sink a majority of my leisure time into Mana Khemia 2, trying to keep alchemy and JRPG androgyny alive and well. Any left over moments will probably be spent cleaning up Gotham’s infamous psychiatric hospital.
TideGear‘s Pick: There’s a few titles I’m somewhat interested in this week, but Batman: Arkham Asylum trumps most of them in terms of “pick” material. It looks to be the best licensed stealth/action game since The Chronicles of Riddick. So what could trump Batman? How about all three Metroid Prime games on one disc, with Wii controls a la Corruption? Yes, Metroid Prime Trilogy is my pick for sure.
I’m so fired up over Batman: AA.
Raven Squad for me. Wasn’t it supposed to be out last week?
You love NIS game don’t you, DE?
Hell yes, some decent games for a change. Batman for me.
Great picture this week. Like others said, I’ll be getting Arkham is the price is right. I hear TRU is giving away a $30 GC on tuesday.
Metroid Prime Trilogy, since I don’t have 2 of the three games. Whats the price on this?
No picking Dissidia Final Fantasy is regrettable.
This is the first week, that I think I’ll actually be going to a store. Yeah, me!
Mana Khemia should be awesome. I agree with DE. I’ve been waiting for months.
Fallout 3- Broken Steel and Point Lookout Add-ons
Aren’t both already out?
Not picking The Clique: Diss and Make Up is complete failure.
My daughters elementary teacher wears the worlds ugliest shoes- Crocs.
Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box. I loved the first one.
They are available on disk for people without broadband.
PS3 Batman for the Exclusive Joker missions.
At least theres some DS games this week. And PSP games even.
Batman is on his way!
Yep, I want! After playing the demo, I need to get the game.
MK2:FoA. Could be the last great PS2 game.
Funny intro. You guys are some clowns.
I haven’t played a Harvest Moon game in a while. Why not?
Ok, I like both Desert and Tides picks, but what about NOLA?
Some good stuff this week. I’m looking at Arkham Asylum.
Metroid Prime Trilogy sounds mighty good.
Layton may mysteriously get my cash.
Raven Squad, if the reviews are good.
Batman: AA for PS3.
Anyone getting the Premium Batman game?
nananananana…
BATMAN!
Biggest seller of the week:
Sarah: Keeper of the Unicorn
All will add the game to their collection. There is no resisting the title.
Because its a Gamestop exclusive, that’s why.
Where’s NOLA’s pick?
Maybe he was committed to Arkham 😉
Does Batman come out today or tomorrow?
I agree.I played the demo and loved the game can’t wait to get it next week!.Although Mana Khemia 2 looks good, it shouldn’t beat out a FF game IMO :P.
Yeah, but it’s a Final Fantasy Fighter! Well, action-fighter!
