New Releases 8/9-8/15: Late Summer Blitz Edition

Although the appearance of Madden NFL 10 signifies the commencement of preseason football, it also tends to indicate the days of a software-starved summer are beginning to wane. With Wolfenstein, Mana Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy, Guitar Hero 5 and Batman: Arkham Asylum imminent, the autumn deluge of games is about to begin. Make sure your schedules and wallets are adequately prepared!

DesertEagle’s Pick: Early reports are stating than Madden NFL 10‘s gameplay feels exceptionally strong this year. While I enjoy the virtal gridiron, I truly love strategy-RPGs. Therefore, Phantom Brave: We Meet Again is a must have for all Nippon Ichi-loving Wii owners.

SeanNOLA’s Pick: If I didn’t know any better, I’d think we were in 2004: with re-releases of gems like Phantom Brave and Marvel vs Capcom 2, games from the last generation are feeling more and more charming every day.  They split my pick of the week, unless Sky Pirates of Neo Terra turns out to be as awesome as its name suggests.

TideGear’s Pick
: This is the week for
Marvel vs. Capcom 2! I love the PS3 controller and its d-pad. However, I can’t ignore NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits which is very reminiscent of both Kid Icarus and LostWinds! That’s my pick.

Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. Since, I already have the PS2 version of Phantom B, I’m not getting anything this week.

  2. Death to Spies: Moment of Truth I really liked the first one. Had a great Eastern Hitman vibe.

  3. DE amazes me that he play both Madden and Phantom Brave. He’s the true versatile gamer.
