New Releases 9/20-9/26: Erudite ODST Edition

As much as the mainstream media would like to portray gamers as Mountain Dew fueled, attention deficit disorder-riddled misfits, this week’s new releases would paint a contradictory picture. With entries based on crime-novelist James Patterson, juvenile sleuths- The Hardy Boys, and an elusive woolly-capped wearing autophobic, one might find us to be a bookish bunch. As long as word doesn’t get out about a little game starring space marines, maybe these antiquated stereotypes can be subverted.

DesertEagle’s Pick: While Katamari Forever doesn’t radically change the franchise’s formula, I can’t wait to roll through some new HD enviorments. While Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection got delayed a week, my nod still stands- this game will please pinball fanatics. Look for my review on Tuesday.

TideGear’s Pick: The
Katamari Damacy games hold a special place in my heart. I’m concerned that Namco Bandai may beat the series to death with release after release, but I’m pretty sure I can get behind Katamari Forever.

Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. I’m curious as to how they make The Price Is Right into a Wii game. Not $30 curious mind you, more like $5 curious.

  2. $60 for a six hour campaign, some co-op, and HALO freaking 3 maps? Bungie can suck it.

Should have called it Halo 3: CASH (Create Another Shitty Halo)

  3. Fear of being alone. I think they’re referring to Waldo whose always surrounded by people. They like to turn there new releases into games.

  4. Did you know Patterson was once a Toys R Us advertising exec? Yes, the man who created the term ‘Toys R Us Kid” will finally have one of his products sold there 🙂

  5. Wow, everyone turning on Halo 3:ODST now it seems. I have it preordered, but the short campaign has me worried.

  6. I always love the way you guys add an introduction to the new release list.

Nothing for me, but I’d love to play Katamari Forever.
