SeanNOLA’s Pick
: I love the Front Mission series, and I really want Front Mission: Evolved to be good, but like my momma always told me: “you can want in one hand and shit in the other, but guess which one will fill up the fastest!” I never really understood that idiom when I was growing up, but I think what she was trying to tell me was to temper my expectations, because Evolved could very easily turn out to be a handful of- let’s just call it “sup-par gaming experience.”  I suppose if Evolved turns out to be a stinker, I’ve always got Sonic 4 and Dead Rising 2 to fall back on.

DesertEagle’s Pick
: Sure, I have all three PS2 Sly Cooper titles, but the thought of a widescreen, 1080P, 60 frames-per second pilfering raccoon has me excited. Beyond that, I’m quite rabid for Hydrophobia.

TideGear’s Pick: I share Sean’s interest and hesitance when it comes to Front Mission: Evolved, and DesertEagle’s love for Sly Cooper. My pick however is Hydrophobia. It’s been a long time coming, and I’m hoping it drowns me in innovation.

Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. I really want Front Mission Evolved to rock. I know it won’t. They should have left it turn based.

  2. Deagle didn’t pick Atelier Rorona: The Alchemists of Arland. That means the world is about to end.

  3. Collector’s edition. This is the $29.99 regular game. The one without the faceplate that won’t fit on a Slim.

  4. Oops! Prank Party sounds totally awful unless it make an image that looks like someone threw a Wiimote through your TV.

  5. I pick Quantum Theory for worst “Gears” rip-off of the week. I also predict a 55 score on Metacritic. Mark these words.

  6. No Dead Rising Pick? I’m sicking the monster hordes against you guys. Well, NOLA at least mentioned it, so be ready Desert.

  7. I’m going to wait for the Dead Rising reviews. I heard mixed things from Weekend Confirmed/Garnett Lee.

  8. If he likes JRPGs so much. Why is his name DesertEagle. Shouldn’t it be Big Tanuki or something?

  9. For some reason, I feel like the Sly Collection wont come out on a Friday. Call me crazy.

Hey Deagle and NOLA, how many games you do actually buy (and receive for review) each week?

  10. Front Mission Evolved has me curious. Why the hell would SE turn a perfectly good tactical game into another MP game?

  11. I hope Greg Hastings’ Paintball is an improvement on the first game. I bought it for $20 and felt ripped off!

  12. “but like my momma always told me: “you can want in one hand and shit in the other, but guess which one will fill up the fastest!”

    Forrest Gump is that ya’ll?

  13. Sid Meier’s Pirates! and Sly Cooper might be worth a purchase.

I only have the third Sly Cooper Game.

  14. I’m hearing Dead Rising 2 for the PS3 has all kinds of screen tear 🙁 I’ll wait until I hear news of a patch.

  15. Congrats on getting this up so early. I used to think you guys just cut and paste info from elsewhere until I see you are the first this week!
