New Releases 9/27-10/3: Willing to GO Edition

With savage snow flurries spotted in Motorstorm Arctic Edge, and violent rotating twisters in both Tornado Outbreak and The Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road, this week’s weather forecast looks exceptionally bleak. Even accessory-maker Psyclone Games is offering a way for virtual fisherman to enjoy the pleasures of bass fishing, without having to endure harsh weather systems, with its optional rod and reel controller. This week, we’ll be enjoying the new releases from climate-controller interiors.

DesertEagle’s Pick: I’m hoping that the PSP Go can renew gamers’ interest for the Sony platform, but having only five new titles for the system’s launch week is disappointing. Still, I’m sure racing fans will find enjoyment within Gran Turismo PSP‘s cornucopia of content- 800 cars, 35 tracks, and countless license tests await.

SeanNOLA’s Pick:  The new releases just keep on coming, without giving us so much as time or room to breathe! Although it is more of a music tool than a game, I am really looking forward to experiencing Timbaland’s foray into the portable universe. I missed Valhalla Knights‘ first incarnation on the PSP, nevertheless I am excited to take a stab at what looks to be a solid Wii RPG.

TideGear’s Pick: I was a fan of Ninja Gaiden Black, but despite my being a young heterosexual male, the “sex sells” insanity of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is bordering on disrespectful to gamers. My pick this week is appropriately wholesome, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. I thought “Black College Football Xperience: The Doug Williams Edition” was a joke at first. Goggling it, it turns out to be a real game.

  2. The Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road isn’t getting much attention. I hear its a decent enough RPG.

  3. I honest never heard of Beaterator until SeanNOLA mentioned it. I love those niche music programs. KORG for DS is one of my favorite carts.

  4. I think they are starting to put the games up on the 1st. I don’t think they’ll flood the PSN with 700 releases on day one.

  5. Wait, what’s go on with Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2? Are people mad they replaced the blood with boobs?

  6. Bouncing boobs isn’t insanity by a long shot. I think TideGear is trying to create a bit of controversy, perhaps to boost the numbers.

  7. Why use a NGS2 picture, if you guys are going to put it down? You’re getting all Kotaku on us, now.

  8. I think it’s funny that severed limbs are ok, but bouncing boobies causes a fuss. You Americans are a funny bunch.
