New Releases for the Week of March 20th, 2011

Whether your instrument of choice is Xiahou Dun’s Kirin Fang, Sam Fisher’s trusty 5.72 mm SC pistol, or Mel B’s ab-burning crunches, this week’s new releases are filled with opportunities to inflict pain. Players should be intimately familiar with most of the weaponry- with the exception of a few portables titles, all the week’s titles are either sequels, remasterings, or ports.

DesertEagle’s Pick: Podcast listeners know from our Sam Fisher vs. James Bond debates, that I’m a fan of Third Echelon’s most famous operative; I’m eager to see how much effort Ubisoft has poured into the HD remastering. Yet, the surprise of the week maybe LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars; I haven’t been able to put down the surprisingly detailed 3DS version.

SeanNOLA’s Pick: Since I’ve never been one for $3000 PCs, I’ve never played a Crysis game before. I’m looking forward to determining whether or not Crysis2 is “pretty good,” or just pretty.

Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. First!

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy for me. I think the first person to post should win the game.

  2. I know there’s haters, but I love me some DW7. Kicking 100 asses at once never gets old.

  3. “all the week’s titles are either sequels, remasterings, or ports”

This is March Madness! (Ah, it will let me catch up on college hoops)

  4. Any improvements to the PS3 version of Sniper: Ghost Warrior?

Didn’t Deagle kind of like that one?

  5. Are there trophies in Prince of Persia Classic? I’ll even play the 2nd game if there is.

  6. So is Playstation Move Heroes supposed to be any good. I really haven’t heard much at all about the game.

I mean you’d think the game should be ok, since it features some big names, but I’m sure Sony could bully the developers to lend out their mascots.

  7. Is it just me, or are you mistaken about Dynasty Warriors 7. A lot of other sources are saying the release has been pushed to the week of March 27th. Please confirm this, don’t get my hopes up.

  8. that’s not too surprising. They’re are great games. And I’m not just saying that because I love LEGOs.

  9. I confirmed the date with a Tecmo-Koei rep. Unless the dates been changed since Friday, it looks to be coming out this week.

  10. Hmm, I’m seeing it was delayed in Europe at the last moment. Maybe the same thing here.

  11. Ok, thanks. A lot of the retailers are still listing the date for next week, so I was confused. But the PS Blog confirmed it with The Drop. So thank you.
