  1. Wow. This is a surprise.

At first, I thought “What the hell happened to Robert’s voice. Damn, he sounds sick”.

    1. What’s up with that? The last podcast ‘official’ he didn’t give impressions. I’m guessing a personality clash with Jeremy over anime/Japanese games.

      1. I can buy that. The screenshot from KLK, that’s when Ryuko is squaring off against Satsuki and taking a stand. I’m guessing it’s a message.

        1. Ok, off with the tinfoil hats.

I think Deagle, just needs a break from it. After hosting for like 6-7 years, he probably wants a break. The thing is he’s probably best at playing host.

Interview was good, and I could see him concentrating on that more. And maybe Indie Outlook.

        2. I’ll crush this speculation right now. Everyone gets along really well together. We have this comfortable chemistry, like we have all known each other our entire lives.

I believe Robert chose that podcast cover because “yaiba” means sword, Jeremy watched Kill la Kill, and Ryuko Matoi is holding a Scissor Blade. It fits like a glove.

  2. You know those 8-4 shows where Mark McDonald isn’t there? This is what this feels like. Don’t get me wrong it’s great hearing from SeanNOLA, but it’s just not the same.

    1. What even happened to Ryan? I likde him the episode he was one (or was it two? It’s been a while).

Can we just have (in order):

      Jeremy
      Robert
      Ryan
      Sage

      Please?

  3. Spoiler alert: sounds like Robert wrote the trivia but SeanNOLA reads it in a super douchey voice.

Yeah, it’s as bad as it sounds.

    1. Also, a serious Jeremy game shortage. I think he talks about TWO games. 🙁

Jeremy, I love when you rattle off like 15 games in 10 minutes.

      1. I like then the show just gives light impressions (like what you said about the old strategy guides) but doesn’t go into too much detail about the games. Not only does that get into spoiler territory, but also can be boring if you’re not into that game.

The show needs Deagle back, make it happen, Robert.

        1. I’ve always liked the impressions style of the Orange Lounge Radio podcast; 10 minutes or so of the entire crew saying “I’ve been playing this and doing that.” I keep trying to fashion my impressions in a similar style, but it never quite ends up that way.

  4. So what happened with that Joystiq review?

Kind of funny that this site outlived Joystiq.

  5. Sean, glad you’re back, but you missed an opportunity to square off against Robert one more time on the subject of paper dolls.

  6. Can I just say you have a serious identity crisis.

Tech-Gaming isn’t really about Tech, it’s about Japanese games and anime, that’s what 90% of the review are about. Don’t get me wrong, they’re good, but not really what the name implies.

The podcast trashed anime and Japanese games, and also doesn’t really talk about technology, either.

    1. I’m not sure we’re talking about the same podcast here. Is this the episode where we talked about enjoying Kill la Kill and talked for like half an hour about Japanese hunter-style games we really liked and referenced things like Akira and Evangelion?

That was the episode I THOUGHT this was, anyway…

      1. It doesn’t really count if you bash half of them.

I don’t think this episode passed the three eyeroll rule.

        1. Haha, ZING. The rule can apply to so many things!

And sure it counts! I like awesome things. Disappointing things I like less. Anime can be just as disappointing as anything else.

          1. I’m waiting for the love episodes where you just talk about nothing but games and media you really enjoy.

  7. With Sean back after 2 years, the show should have been epic, but it wasn’t. No fault on you Sean.

I think it was no Deagle that kind of killed things.

  8. Your April Fool’s Joke of barely having Deagle on the show is like, 4 days, early.

Blue, how come you didn’t back up Sage against the anime bullies.

Also, why did all the lingo (“tits” “eat a d”) sound like 1998?

    1. I don’t take Jeremy or Sean’s anime hate super seriously. No matter what they say, they still keep watching (or playing, in the case of Japanese games) and that action speaks louder than any words. 🙂

        1. I know Jeremy is usually open to anime show recommendations. Speaking of which…

(Ghostly Voice) Jeremy…..JEREMY! You will watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and you will like it! HoooooOOOOooooo!

  9. You should have asked if having Adam Baldwin in Firefly Online was a good thing or not. HAHAHA.

SJWs will now kill the game.

  10. Sean, you want to stop trying to keep up with the new release schedule, so you take TWO years off?

  11. Good interview, but trivia was kind of ruined. No one else can read those complicated questions.

  12. I like how Sage talks about games most people haven’t probably heard of.

Tired voice trivia was kind of annoying. But it’s funny that almost no one cares about Story of Seasons on the show except the one person who wasn’t there.

  13. I like Sean. I mean who else talks about font kerning for games? But his attitude toward things rubs me the wrong way.

I don’t know if its sexual tension between Jeremy and Sage or what, but after a while those those need to take it to a room and get it out of their system. They can record a show before the afterglow fades.

        1. It’s a reference to Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z. Yaiba was a ninja killed in a duel with Ryu Hayabusa, then brought back to life by a scientist, who a few added cybernetic pieces; like a new cyborg arm and an eye, just like Raidou in Dead Or Alive 5: Last Round.

          1. So it always means “destroy a perfectly good franchise”, then?

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z was horrible. A wart on the ass of the Gaiden franchise.

  14. I was thinking about getting Damascus Gear but saw it was $15. I’m not paying that for a sloppy translation.

  15. I liked the peripheral question. As I was listening to the show, I was going through the basement, and there were Wii Speak Mics, YourShape Wii camera, Move controllers, Two Kinects, UDraw and probably a couple hundred dollars worth of other stuff.

I’m pretty sure I learned my lesson. Like everyone else, I got caught up in the hype. But its amazing how experiences like Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor or Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest can cut down your enthusiasm. They all seemed so cool when first announced. But then, gradually most everything turned out to me smoke and mirrors. All those Kinect promises of it reading your drawings or giving you a virtual friend to interact with were false. Am I the only one that feels ripped off? Am I jaded?
