Podcast 4-5, 4-6: A Powered-Up Podcastaganza

Clearly, the podcast gods much be enraged. What else could explain the endless succession of broken microphones, corrupted files, hellish traffic, conflicting schedules, and bouts of grumpiness which have prohibited the Tech-Gaming crew from releasing a show during the last two weeks? Yet, despite being engulfed in adversity we deliver.

This week’s podcast is laborious amalgam of episodes 4-5 and 4-6, a two-hour podcastaganza where TideGear, DesertEagle, and SeanNOLA offer ClaDan: This is an RPG, H.A.W.X. 2, Metroid: Other M and Valkyria Chronicles 2 impressions along with a double portion of our beloved trivia. We also invite Aksys Game’s Cherie and Gail to the show, to discuss portable titles Gladiator Begins and 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors!  Hopefully, our painstaking efforts have paid off and you’ll enjoy our double-dose of gaming goodness.

Don’t forget to send your questions for our next mailbag, and subscribe to the Tech-Gaming Podcast on iTunes. Leaving a review would be an cool thing to do; and keep us from begging for feedback every show.

  1. I got a question for y’all:

How has the recession effected your gaming and in your opinion the industry? Has gaming really been hurt or has just seem soso developers been weeded out?

  2. I wish the yearbook was integrated more in VC2, too. It seems like it was just slapped in there.

  3. I liked your discussion on obvious game mechanics (M:OM) and specially how deagle says film gets an out.

  4. SeanNOLA’s misguided comment of the week

“Vanquish will be a sleeper hit”

It will be SEGA’s hit this year. Guaranteed!

  5. 4-5 kind of ends on a down note. Wow, SeanNOLA seemed bitter. Thank god for the Moonwalker jam 😉

  6. Aksys interview was very cool, but sound quality was pretty bad. Still, they sound like very cool, people.

  7. My microphone broke right before we recorded 4-6. I recorded the Castle Crashers bit with DEagle the following day, and just edited it in.
We also recorded an NISA interview, but the mics those guys used weren’t up to snuff, so we had to scrap it. We’ll try to have those guys on again at some point.

  8. No, believe it or not, we had an interesting discussion about their localization process – you just couldn’t hear anything they were saying.

  9. Hmmm…this article doesn’t quite jive. I mean, I like what they are saying, but they don’t cite any of their sources, or even say that they have any for that matter. They just say “Apparently, Sony is doin’ stuff,” but it isn’t really apparent if this is the first time we’re hearing about it.

  10. Mark my words: Vanquish sales will be underwhelming at launch, but won’t stop selling over time. We will see a sequel in 2012, and it will have multiplayer.

  11. The shows cool and all, but I wouldn’t pay for it.

No offense, but I wouldn’t pay to hear the Giant Bombcast show early either.

  12. I’m not a diva, I just play games with divas in them.

Warning: I might be a little grumpy on the podcast we’re recording tonight. A few anticipated games feel like a bit antiquated.

  13. LOL when Desert talking about “confronting our own mortality” He went all emo for a sec, there.
