Podcast 6-6: A Couple of QTEs

This week, DesertEagle, TideGear and Samurage are joined by the hosts of Coin-Op TV– Robert Welkner and Hailey Bright. The quintet offers impressions of Brink, Okamiden, Hunted: Demon’s Forge, Killzone 3, Bulletstorm, Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle, and Torchlight, before hitting the often quarrelsome Monopoly Streets. Along with a trivia section which nearly devours the whole show (stay tuned for the outtake), we explore game clichés, and explain  our collective admiration for Japanese games.

  1. No mention of Japan earthquake yet and we are 15 minutes in. I assume this was record a little while ago.

  2. I bet Bulletstorm talk end in ragging on the game. Seems like every podcast is doing that these days.

  3. Yep, the shows aren’t quite the same without him, I’ve noticed.

So how was Mardi Gras, NOLA? One question? Boobz?!?!

  4. Wait, one sound effect? You should have had more? That would have made a pretty cool change of pace.

  5. Desert, when you say “Yeah” try not to sound like the boss from Office Space, mmmkay?

  6. Hell yeah, a TideGear show. Those are always my favorite.

  7. I like the variety so far. You guys should have 5 people on more often. Good show.

  8. So far the show kicks ass like Casey Heynes. Maybe he should have been the cover art.

  9. Yeah, Deagle, Tide, and Sean shows are the best. No offense to Sage, in fact the four of them could be epic.

    Has that happened yet?

  10. Like any red-blooded New Orleanian, I fled to Orlando during Mardi Gras.
I heard it was good this year, but there were no boobies at DisneyWorld.

  11. Tide and I bought a pair of those fusion earrings from DragonBall, so now we are twice as awesome, but we are also only one person.

  12. Who the hell else could review those Minecraft/Monster Hunter hybrids?

Looking on ebay for those earrings. Man, the prices!

  13. I don’t know…something besides SeanNOLA was missing this show. I know you were trying Deagle, but the show was just a bit off.

    Love that Sage though!

  14. We recorded the show before the quake and tsunami hit. I’m sure we’ll discuss it in future episodes.

Right now, a gaming podcast may not be the most appropriate venue. I cringe when I see people write, “Is this going to delay game X”, when people’s lives have been deeply devastated.

  15. Listen to the end of the show…you’ll see the show crumpling before me as I try to achieve this.

  16. Apparently, we were the only people in DisneyWorld that didn’t hit up Universal to see the Harry Potter stuff – I saw more Gryffandor cloaks and hoodies than I saw Mickey Mouse ears!

  17. Great show this week. Sage, Tide, and Deagle congrats all around. A beer for all!

  18. He’s from New Orleans (mentions it pretty often on the podcast) now living the good life in Los Angeles.

  19. Hey, new listeners!
Just like Winter said – I’m from New Orleans, but now living in Los Angeles. I’m also the grumpy one, so get ready for that, too.
    Thanks for listening!

  20. Deagle, you should make Tide, Sean and Sage sign a contract to make sure they are all on each week. in blood.
