Splinter Cell: Conviction Photostream

Over the last two console generations, I’ve developed a slavish devotion to the games inspired by Tom Clancy’s prose. From my initial tango-clearing missions with Domingo ‘Ding’ Chavez, liberating North Koreans under Scott Mitchell’s watch and lurking in the shadows with Sam Fisher, each title has offered an ample supply to opponents positioned to test the effectiveness of bleeding-edge weaponry. In other words- the perfect gaming recipe.

Currently, anticipation for Ubisoft’s next release- Splinter Cell:Conviction, is heating up faster that a detonated incendiary grenade thanks to two new features: Mark and Execute, and Last Known Position. The former allows players to identify specific targets from an unseen vantage point, and then breach in, eliminating hostiles in asingle, satisfying ambush. The later addition offers a visual indicator as to where opponents think the player is once a line of sight is broken; giving players an invaluable insight. Both are likely to contribute to Conviction’s emphasis on quick, clandestine, tactical strikes.

Tech-Gaming’s Ana M. was on hand for the Splinter Cell: Conviction party to grab a bit of critical intel and some hands-on impressions. In the meantime, have a look at our declassified photos, and let us know if you can offer a positive ID on any dignitaries.

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.
