The Tech-Gaming Podcast- 5-0: Keeping It Indie

Back from hiatus, and with the Southern California air still buzzing from IndieCade, everyone’s favorite trio returns for impressions of Explosionaide, Comic Jumper: The Adventures of Captain Smiley, Rock of the Dead, and Knightfall: Death and Taxes. Beyond welcoming Nick D. of NIS America to the show for a discussion on the intricacies of localization as well as the publisher’s current and upcoming line-up, we also present a readers with a giggle-inducing round of trivia, and pull a few queries from the mailbag.

Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. NISA interview from this site? What are the odds? Whats next ATLUS?!? \

    🙂 🙂 🙂

Just kidding, looking forward to listening.

  2. After listening to the unorganized mess of the In this Thread podcast, this is a nice break.

  3. I cant believe they are selling Explosionade for $1. I agree with Deagle, everyone needs to try it.

  4. Time for some T-G theater!

Prinny: Whats up, dood? Want to make some quick money?

Deagle: Money is good, it keeps my stocked with ammo, chibi toys, and I don’t have to rely on anime ads to feed my dog.

Prinny: Well dood, all you have to do is say some great things about our game. And if that guy SEANNOLA says anything bad about them. You make him review Horsez: Friends with Manes for the next 1,000 years dood.

Deagle: It’s a deal. But only if you throw in the nude Etna pics.

  5. favorite part of the show “Are you ready for some c…”

It sounded like Desert was having a great time through the takes.

  6. My favorite part of the show “…An alarm clack”

Really how much does Karnov sleep? And Deagle 4 hours a night is crazy man. It can’t be worth it.

  7. Front Mission Evolved must be different on the 360 then PC. I didn’t think what TideGear was saying happened to me.

  8. So the other two weren’t interested in doing a NIS interview? I guess that’s more Rob/Deagle’s territory.

  9. It is, but it’s basically a demo. To activate all the modes, you need to grab the $4.99 USD in-app purchase. It’s totally worth it, though!

  10. Great NIS interview. By only problem with the podcast were a few drops in sound quality. You guys don’t have a superduper T1 connection?

  11. I liked the interview with Nick. Keep them coming. Its a cool bit, that a lot of the other podcasts don’t have.

  12. Rolling in my 5-0 edition?

I just wanted to thank you guys for making my week go by a little bit easier. With your podcast, a boring commute in made a bit better. You guys are all friendly and fun, I could imagine myself sitting down with you all getting my game on.
