The Tech-Gaming Podcast- 5-1: For Queen and Country

In this oft-delayed, highly anticipated podcast, DesertEagle pledges his allegiance to Queen and country with impressions of Goldeneye 007 and James Bond 007: Blood Stone, as well as hosting Southampton developers Megadev, creators of pleasing puzzler- Knightfall: Death and Taxes.  Before SeanNOLA offers thoughts on the direction of Bakugan: Defenders of the Core, we briefly go on a zombie-slaughtering, blister-inducing Blood Drive. This week’s show is bookended by the soothing strains of the Tanguy Ukelele Orchestra

Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. He wasn’t that big of a deal. He’d talk weird games once in a while and did like 5 reviews. Big whoop.

  2. So your harddrive crashed NOLA? How did you recover it?

    Geo-intelligence? That’s hardcore.

  3. SeanNOLA was responsible for the CA missile launch with his Xbox 360 controller.

So far, Deagle is on a roll with his comments. “like Kinect?” LOL.

  4. Deagle- Elbow NOLA back. I’ve seen a few sites give the game a great score. Escapist- 100% !!!

  5. Noticing the different Walthers is kinda crazy. Do you really like Bond or really like guns?

  6. Deagle, don’t feel bad you don’t know the “We are Ghost” expression. It’s a show where they make fun of NIS games.

  7. My hard drive didn’t crash, my Skype recorder was just deleting the files as soon as I was done recording. I uninstalled, reinstalled, did some basic maintenance and haven’t had the problem since. Fingers crossed!

  8. I like Weekend Confirmed, but sometimes they do piss me off. Usually, when they let a guess influence them and they get silly. Still, one of the best podcasts out there.

  9. Desert

You guys interview Namco about Knightfall but don’t review Enslaved or Naruto? What gives?

  10. Ok, drop TideGear and get the Megadev guys on the show on a weekly basis.

    Make it happen. NOW!

  11. Mr. NOLA are you importing Monster Hunter Portable 3rd? Or getting the new PSP when it comes here?

  12. I would LOVE to get that new Monster Hunter PSP, but it is A: too expensive and B: likely to be sold out at launch. I doubt I’ll import Portable 3rd, unless Capcom drags their feet localizing it. As long as it drops by this summer, I can wait.

  13. TideGear is not gone, he’s just very busy with his primary position at Rockin’ Android. He’s taken on a lot of responsibility there, and that’s a good thing – we support that. As of now, his participation is completely up to him – he can come and go as he pleases, and we’ll always have a spot for him on the show.

  14. Great show all around. Desert and NOLA both seemed really into it. I like the Bond discussion, trivia, and the interview.

  15. That’s cool. But you guys do realize that he was using the podcast to plug Rockin’ Android all the time right?

  16. WUT? I know Mr. Lee’s work and he usually doesn’t make fun of games, but treats them pretty respectfully. What was the context?

  17. Haha, yes I am aware. I don’t mind either – I would be plugging my company too, if I thought anyone from the Defense and Intelligence industry was listening.

  18. All around great show this week.

And it is “Ahstin Mahtin” If you don’t say it like that you’ll never have a shot of owning one.

  19. If you recall TideGear was the one who turned me on to Knightfall. So his fingerprints are all over this episode even if his voice isn’t!

Oh, and check out Crescent Pale Moon on PSN if you want to see what he’s up to, lately!

  20. Desert know games cause that’s all Desert do with his free time anymore 😉

Wait why am I talking in 3rd person Caveman?

  21. Are you guys thinking about getting another person on the podcast? I’ve got 2 years podcasting exp and 20 years gaming.

    Let me know.

  22. Great assessment of Goldeneye Deagle. I agree it’s the best FPS on the system, I like it ever better than Metroid.

Did you catch the guy who said it was better than Halo and MW’s single player campaigns?
