The Tech-Gaming Podcast, World 1-9

Violence erupts on this week’s podcast, as SeanNOLA feverishly tells DesertEagle he’s “full of (it)” for his criticism of a popular PS3 title. Before the show is over the duo reconciles over a common apathy toward White Knight Chronicles, and Playstation doppelgangers. Meanwhile, TideGear scouts for a potential Valentine. Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. We didn’t kick him off the show! The man just has a lady now, so he’s a little busy. Make no mistake, he’ll be back (hopefully soon)!

  2. It’s from Grandia II. I figured that since I mentioned the soundtrack, I might as well include some music from it. The end track was the radio edit of “Go Mario, Go” by Ambassadors of Funk.

  3. Haha! Do you skip to the last page of mystery novels, too? We actually had called Adam during his first date on episode 1-8 (which never aired, because the quality was poor) so we tried to recreate that moment for the end of 1-9. It was kind of a failure…

  4. The quality of the recording or the overall quality of the conversation?

Nice with getting this one up quick, while people are still talking about the Saints.

  5. Good podcast, but you do need Adam’s indie and iphone highlights. He also seems to keep the other guys testosterone in check.

  6. I think that’s an important point. As a openly gay man (and gamer- gosh!) I can’t stand the majority of podcasts. Most hosts have to prove how manly they are. While you guys dont do it too much (well, as much as a guy named after a gun. Actually, that’s pretty phallic if you think about it), I do pick up on it.

I just want to tell you, your audience isn’t just 12 year old hyper-hetrosexuals boys.

  7. Wait Adam, been on TWO dates now? Are you sure he’s on a date, and you guys just didn’t piss him off?

  8. Well, were nine shows in. I’d like to think we’ll get better with age. If would help if you told us exactly what you did and didn’t like.

  9. It’s hard for both Sean and I to do it, but a two-man show is better than no show, right?

    RIGHT?

  10. Sounds like NOLA liked WKC because it’s vaguely Monster Hunter-like.

Which mean 90% of most American gamers won’t like it.

  11. Oh, they regularly incur my wrath! Haha, just kidding… I really did go on another date!

  12. Haha, I’m not sure I agree with that, but you should rest assured that much more of my time seems to be taken up by gaming.

  13. Thanks to those who missed me! I tried to reschedule our recording, but the guys had other conflicting responsibilities! …What a world this is!

  14. Haha, I’ve been playing BioShock 2 and it was rather bizarre the first few times a little sister said “Adam, daddy!”

  15. I haven’t see a TideGear review or heard him on a podcast. All he does is offer his picks.

You might want to consider a backup plan. I’m just saying.

  16. Man, I just bought WKC today. I’m two hours in, and it’s a bit slow, but no huge problems so far.

I can see what DE was getting at. The combat throws in just enough realtime stuff to make you think it’s an action/rpg.

Sneaking up on enemies doesn’t feel like you are surprising them either.
