The Tech-Gaming Podcast, World 2-6

This week DesertEagle and SeanNOLA discuss the quality of barbecue, beer and beast hunting at Capcom’s Monster Hunter Tri event, while TideGear’s exonerates gaming’s most criticized piece of hardware. We also deliberate over the merits of 3D Dot Game Heroes, Again, Dead or Alive: Paradise, and the Earth Defense table for Zen Pinball and get ‘dirty’ and ‘flirty’ with our mailbag.

Don’t forget to send your questions for our next mailbag, and subscribe to the Tech-Gaming Podcast on iTunes.

  1. Liking it so far, but why is Desert making his voice go deeper? And where his girly laugh?

  2. Ok, love the new opening. It sounds much more professional, just cue the music after Karnov finishes!

  3. Pee-Pee sounds more ‘with-it’ this week, naming a Rampage character without hesitation.

  4. Guys, I’m playing Pokemon Soul Silver. How do you give your Pokemon more that just a single level of experince with the Pokewalker? You mention something about a magic carpet. Details, please.

  5. Deagle, why did you do the MHT event if you don’t like the game? Just being a mooch or what?

  6. Yeah, but Garnet is the best podcaster, the others are lame (the ‘I hate Just Cause 2’) guy or angry ‘the I hate motion control’ dude.

  7. You guys seem like your really building chemistry. I like the whole clean/dirty tension between Tide and Desert.

  8. I wish DE would stop trying to be like Cheapy D and just talk about games and not try to be funny all the time.

  9. Haha, not that I know of. We shot that on 8mm Video, though, so if I can get in touch with my high school buddies, it wouldn’t be TOO difficult to upload. I guess this is what Facebook is for…

  10. The lateness is all my fault. My mom came to visit all the way from Alabama and I didn’t have time to sit at a computer for 3 hours. I will make it up to you guys, somehow!

  11. I didn’t mean to be down on it, I just wanted to give a little more insight than other sites had given up to this point. I’ll get more in depth for the review, but that isn’t for another week or two (the game doesn’t come out until May 11!)

  12. Ive been talking for a few hours a day- perhaps that has something to do with it. I’ll get a helium tank for 2-7!

  13. She liked it a lot. I didn’t take her to an arcade (although I should have taken her to Nickel Nickel, to get another picture of her trying to play RE: GunSurvivor 2) but I took her to the last Ducks game and showed her the beach, so she was happy.

  14. You realize my weakness. My head has no room for modern gaming as it’s filled with retro goodness.

I need to replace those Pac-Man ‘patterns’ and Konami codes with newer, equally worthless filler 😉

  15. I know, a JRPG with John Woo gunplay- why am I not reviewing this?

I just called Sega, and it’s on its way, so I’ll be getting the lead out.

    See what I did there?

  16. Hey Chris,

The next episode will have a newly designed graphic.

    Just for you.

  17. The world is big enough for two big, bald, potty mouthed podcasters especially if only one of them is in the US of A!

  18. That will get my $40 for sure.

What character did you play as?

Deagle, did you play as anything besides a tank?

  19. I played as a lot, but my two favorites were the GT Car and the Samurai. I tried my hands at making my own, but it’s a lot of work!

  20. I had a virtual boy and it did give me headaches if I played it for too long. But Im like that with any kind of 3D/headset things.

  21. I dont really see any similarities. Desert taklks about games not taking his kid to daycare.

  22. It’s an arcade in Huntington Beach (and I think there are others in SoCal) where you pay an entrance fee, and all games are either free or only a nickel to play. My girlfriend took me there when I first moved out here and we beat Turtles in Time on free-play.

  24. That’s a pretty good observation. Hopefully, I own destruction too, or at least rent it occasionally.
