The Tech-Gaming Podcast, World 2-9

TideGear offers a colloquy on Love and Infinite Space; whether he is discussing games or waxing philosophic is uncertain. Before things get too abstract, SeanNOLA and DesertEagle discuss the more corporal pleasures of Monster Hunter Tri and What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord 2. The crew wraps things up with a bit of trivia, some missives from the mailbag, and the latest internet meme.

  1. You guys and your hair glue!

I liked how Desert yells “What are you sick with” and “Use the bottle”

  2. Sounds like SeanNOLA made good on his promise to of getting things together.
Two podcast in one week is great.

  3. TideGear been bitten by the LOVE bug. I’ve been hearing mixed things- It’s fun and different, but I can break your heart too.

  4. I’ll post my comments after I listen today. 1:22 is the perfect commute time podcast length for me.

  5. I’ll have to give MH3 a rent now, to see if both NOLA and Desert are crazy or not.

  6. It always makes me smile when people demand that these podcasts are longer – like you guys actually enjoy listening to me babble. My girlfriend just wishes I could shut up for a solid hour-and-a-half!

  7. No Peace Walker talk=fail 🙂

My question for next show, what do you think about the Famitsu ‘scandal’?

  8. But do you talk games or things like money, what to eat, how Desert is crazy, etc.

  9. I love when Adam asks, “Are you making fun of me?!?!”

    Highlight of the show.

  10. The Love section was running long, but the jokes made it all worthwhile.

  11. SeanNOLA, we want info! Are you leaving T-G??? How did you get this gig? What was your reaction to the comments?

  12. No, I’m not leaving Tech-Gaming. This was just a freelance/cross-promotion gig. Joystiq needed someone that knew about Monster Hunter to write an article about the game, so I sent Justin an e-mail and he gave me the job.

As for the comments, they were a little disheartening at first, but Justin and I talked at length beforehand and decided how the article was going to sound, and we both felt that it was a solid piece before he posted it. If they didn’t like it, that’s their loss. Plus, after seeing Justin go through the same harsh ridicule on CAG after his guest-spot on the CAGcast, I realized it happens to everyone. I guess it’s just a rite-of-passage for writers in this industry.

  13. We don’t really talk about Monster Hunter. Usually, when we do, it’s along the lines of “Casey, why don’t you call your friends and go have lunch, so I can play Monster Hunter.”

She’s not really a gamer, but occasionally, she’ll pick up a game, maybe once every month or so. She has a Wii and a DSi, and she likes Prof Layton, WiiFit, Castlevania:PoR and Okami. She’ll also play Smash Bros, but only Sub-Space Emissary and only if I play with her. She mostly just sticks to iPhone games.

  14. I thought he was decent on the cagcast. I remember everyone hated Shipwreck at first.

  15. If I talked that way to my GF shed punch me in the head. I got to sneak in games when she’s not around.

  16. Email it in as a question and we’ll probably get to it. Metal Gear is my favorite game series so I’ll be happy to share my thoughts.
