The Tech-Gaming Podcast, World 3-5

This week the Tech-Gaming crew returns to offer their impressions on the sights, sounds, and smells of the 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo. Beyond sharing our praise for at least one particular piece of hardware, we lavish praise over Vanquish, Civilization 5, Kirby Epic Yarn, Enslaved, and Children of Eden. Before listeners think we’ve succumbed to the new flavors of corporate Kool-Aid, they’ll be happy to know that we also express concern over a few prominent devices and key titles. As always, DesertEagle presents his weekly dose of trivia, while TideGear and SeanNOLA answer queries from the mailbag.

Don’t forget to send your questions forour next mailbag, and subscribe to the Tech-Gaming Podcast on iTunes. Leaving a review would be an awesome thing to do, also.

  1. At first I thought WTF is up with that graphic- they’ve sold their souls.

    Good job, guys.

  2. I think I went to school with Calvin Tucker. He was more ‘inner city’ that redneck, though.

  3. I’ll take 1:42!!!

Thank God Desert cuts to the chase, and doesn’t let everyone go on for a while.

  4. I’m think the redneck is Desert, Tide is his wife, and NOLA is the cool crow in the background.

  5. I like it- no Bullshit- right into the games.

Tide fades out at the 4:45 mark.

  6. NOLA drank the koolaid when he said the game makes you want to rub your eyes.

  7. You Nintendo fanboys are my new favorites. Thinking about giving your guys a four star review.

  8. No way am I spending $150 on Kinect. MS is going to lose the house on this one.

  9. I totally agree with Desert. $59 Kinect games are crazy. No way will people buy these until they drop in price.

  10. Tide, buttons don’t move at the speed of light. Propagation speed through the cable is probably 2/3rd the speed of light.

  11. I agree, but am a bit disappointed that everyone seems to want this to fail. T-G guys included.

  12. Can you guys make a player that doesn’t use flash, so I can play it on my iphone via 3G?

  13. When the trailers arockin’ dont come aknockin’, its just the T-G podcast being recorded, ya’ll.

  14. I’m witcha NOLA, it’s all about the Jockamo and the Turbodog when your cooking the meat up.

  15. Forget the Tuckers, just give me Jackie Chan. A real SuperCop 4, Police Story 4- whatever you want to call it.

  16. I’ll be listening today. My question for next week: How come TideGear posts his picks so late, or now not at all?

  17. Hey, I didn’t even know I was being recorded. I’m calling my attorney, Phoenix Wright, Esq, at once!

  18. Yeah, its cool but the box format wastes a lot of screen space. The widescreen fake game shots would work better.

  19. Sorry, Ben but NO ONE is calling it a 360 250 GB. It’s the 360 Slim.

I heard Wombat but only a bit of Desert 🙁

  20. This is a thumbs down boo. Could use less Ben and more Cheapy, Wombat, NOLA, Desert, and a shit ton more Shipwreck. Where the hell was Karnov?

I did like when he talks about how cool the PS3s feel, then they whole thing crumbles as the dissent mounts.

  21. Actually the 360 250 GB is the official name. ‘Slim’ is just the popular nickname.

When/if Microsoft releases the rumored $199 console, I don’t know what they are going to call it to differentiate the system from older Xboxes.

  22. You guys plug CAG way too much. Enjoy your own thing- you guys need to focus on reviews, which are some of the better ones I’ve read.

  23. Yea, the same goes for the PS3 Slim. The official name is the PS3, as opposed to the PlayStation 3, which is the larger model.
I think the companies are trying to get away from calling gen2 redesigns “slim,” because the 2-design console cycle has been around since the NES. I think both companies are planning on this generation lasting through at least one more redesign. Would you call a gen3 system the “PS3 Slimmer” or the “XBox Thinner: By Stephen King?”

  24. I was going for 80…I’ll have to try harder next time. Maybe call something “da bomb” or try doing the Macarena. You kids like that, right?

  25. I’m waiting for the Anorexic PS3, so thin you might lose it if you place it sideways on your entertainment center.

  26. Hell yea! I’m finishing off my Strawberry Fest Ale stash right now, and then I’m gonna see if I can’t get my hands on one o’ them bigass Andy Gator bottles. That’s just about as much fun as you can cram in a bottle!

  27. Wow that was weird. From hiphop gamer, Move shot control, Move confusion, motion hate, you guys said the same things as the CagCast. How did that happen?

  28. I noticed that too. I listen to about 7 podcasts, you your was similar.

Deagle was the only T-G’er to touch on Move confusion, though. NOLA seemed to justify it. Notice his orientation toward Sony products?
